Story about this misheard lyric by: Jonathan S. When I first heard this, I figured the singer was referring to a type of hygiene product, or a form of contraception (such as a diaphragm). It wasn't until a great while later that I found out the correct lyric--and then had to hop on Wikipedia to find out that the object in question is a type of military fortification. (The song's narrative is set during the Spanish-American War.) |
