The Lyrics
Australian group named "Axis of Awesome" made some time ago a hit named "Four Chord Song". It is a medley of various songs which use the same chord progression, namely I-V-vi-IV (e.g. C-G-Am-F). This progression is known as Pop-Punk Progression. But there is another four chord progression, namely Fifties' Progression, which follow I-vi-IV-V progression. So here is my try - all these songs can be played with those four songs. This song is to be sung as a girl-boy duet. Can anyone recognize all the songs?

Nostalgic trip down memory lane. I know most of these, and of course the 'Police' refrain. There are are a few errors in the lyrics which I thought might be helpful to point out (sorry, it's the ESL teacher in me):

I'm not musically literate (drummer-percussionist) but I did a jazz-impro hobby course a few years ago. I think I recall the teacher saying a lot of 50s oldies have a II-V-III-I progression, e.g. the opening bars to the Four Seasons' 'Sherry'. Is that right? Anyway, point off pacing for above reasons, but for the fun and effort 455

*smile* I attempted to make a meaningful story of using just the opening lines of songs which follow the I-vi-IV-V progression. I didn't attempt to match the pacing, but just to use the opening lines.
If you google "four chord song axis of awesome" you will find the original which was the original - the boys used 36 different songs following the I-V-vi-IV progression to make theirs. "Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong" was originally played by The Edsels. I personally remember it as played by a Swedish rockabilly group The Boppers.

Good compilation
I took your advice and went to the OS. It was awesome, but I knew hardly any of the songs, except for 'Time to say goodbye' and 'Auld lang syne'. I like your exmples better, and it helped me to see how much creativity went in to this.
