The Lyrics
On April 13th, in St. Louis, Missouri, Johnnie Johnson, a rock and roll pioneer, passed away at age 80. On New Years Eve, 1952, he hired Chuck Berry to fill in for a member of his band, who was ill. In the early years, he had collaborated with Berry on many of the hit songs. It is said, that, "Johnny B. Goode" was written as a tribute to him. Tlhey split up in the seventies, and in "2000", he sued Berry for a his share of royalties and writing credits, on more than fifty of the hits. However, the case was dismissed in 2002, declaring that too much time had passed since the songs were written.

Sorry I DKTOS ( no vote ) but very interesting.
I believe you left out the bridge to this song. Check Catch 23's version on April 15th. The fourth stanza there is the bridge. I can't seem to find one here. I don't vote, but if I did this would be 444. Pretty good tribute to a guy who was royally screwed over.
