The Lyrics
While I was reading Airfarcewon's "Fooled Some Prison Screws" I overheard a radio playing "Teen Angel". I thought about a felon who simply walked out of the Wyandotte County (Kansas) jail because an officer left him alone in the hallway. And, of course, Tommy Turtle's take on "Law and Order S.V.U.". The whole thing came together rather quickly after that.
That rainy night
I tied you up
And left you in my shack
You broke the cords
And you escaped
I went and hauled you back
Teen Strangler, papers call him
Sometimes his crimes appall him
But he can't ignore the thrill
And voices telling him to kill
What demons running through my brain
To take her life that night?
They say they found piano wire
Wrapped 'round her neck so tight
Teen Strangler, loves to snatch 'em
Teen Strangler, cops can't catch him
Half the force is on his trail
Let's hope they throw his ass in jail

Did this OS as a tribute to an excellent writer no longer here, named Dee Range (heh! - great name, eh?), so this OS was a natural to become "Dee Range, Well...." But it's NOT worth looking up, since you DK the writer.

Closer to half an hour from start of writing to finish. I go back and look up the lyrics so I can get the pacing right and the line breaks. I knew the lyrics to this one so I had it worked out in my head pretty quickly. Some songs actually take years. A couple I had in mind before I heard of this web site. Some I nit pick for days. This one came out virtually unchanged in one take.
