Used to have a friend back in the 60's who would pop a couple "Reds" (the barbiturate, Seconal) and sing this Blues song called "Too Much Of A Good Thing (Ain't No Good At All)" and then play and sing the same chorus part for about 2 or 3 hours straight, thus proving the song's point. The same thing can happen with Sweet "Treats" you give yourself...

I head down to Winchell's at one in the night
I'll stand at the counter, chomping down big bites

Good song... This is my second favorite Neil Young song, with "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" as my favorite. Cinnamon swirl... heh... Considering Neil, maybe this was a double entendre for this song....

Adagio, that's the type of device I picked up from one our the site's more prolific writers, the ever-clever Rick D. - glad you liked the "twist" on this dough-ler-ious number. Alvin, thanks, Macphisto, thank you. I've been looking at some of Mr. Young's early works lately to see what I might be able to do with them. They're very adaptable to parody from what I see and you can have a bit of fun with them, too.

I'm cracking up while visualizing Neil doing all that! You're not all thumbs, after all. I've not been around the site much lately (and am looking forward to catching your last few parodies later) but wanted to wish you a happy BD in order to help the celebrating last a bit longer!
Mari D - Thanks - you know using that type of "device" instead of just saying "instrumental" is something I picked up reading Rick's stuff over the month's I been over here. They are times when it really works (especially when someone's about to launch into a long, overblown guitar solo). I DIDN't put that in my parody of Young's "Cowgirl In the Sand" (Hell, This Cat Food Is Too Bland")but when I heard the song played on the FM while I was up North I was picturing this ticked off cat going thru all those gyrations and wailing guitar sounds in his head and stomach while wishing he had some good eats in his plate. I couldn't stop laughing.
