Louvrin’…place has got so many rooms.
Viewin’ so much art I think I’ll swoon.

Was once a palace for the peasants’ betters;
on Bastille Day they broke free of their fetters…
liberty, equality, fraternity.

Removing nobles’ heads; the Terror boomed;
Louis and his cake queen were entombed.

Now people of all kinds go there to see
the art emplaced over the centuries.
The place has become an art-lover’s treat; they’re
moving eagerly from room to room,
seein’ paintings, tapestries from looms.
So, so much shown.

You can’t see everything in just one day…
van Gogh, Poussin, Picasso, and Monet,
and Mona Lisa who’s looking your way.
Likely no theft there’ll be.
Louvre loots not meant to be.

Loomin’ is the time to leave the Louvre…
