After the World Cup Final, everybody seemed to be talking about Mario Götze (the chap who scored the winner for Germany, for the non-footballing aficionados out there).. and every time I heard the name it reminded me of the Chas n Dave, er, masterpiece.
..turns out that Götze means "idol". Seems somehow appropriate, under the circumstances. No prizes for spotting the bit of Deuglish near the end :-)

I kinda expected finding the original would be as hard as it is for current generation of Brazilians and/or Englishmen National Teams to find the area between the goalposts of the opposing team with the ball - but I was wrong, here it's is:

It's such a classic that googling the word "gertcha" gives a link to the video as its top hit :-)
..the funny thing is that until I decided to write this, I only knew one word of the original song, yet it's almost a part of the culture: almost everyone knew what I was saying when I mentioned Chas n Dave in reference to "Götze"
