The Lyrics
The original song here was written by the late Gene Clark and was on a good but mostly ignored album the Burrito Brothers put out in 1970 or 1971. I don't know if many of you will know this but I enjoyed working with the original song regardless.
I stopped to eat this morning after I got stoned
I had not eaten for some time; could hear my stomach groan
I ate my breakfast at a small café near home
The food was fried with lard; very greasy
It really satisfied my soul (ooohhh)
And even though this food will really make me fat
It's so incredibly tasty; best food I've ever had
But when I eat it I know that my waist will grow
Because it's fried in lard and it's greasy
It always makes my stomach bloat (uuhhhuu)
Never thought that I could find a place this great
Most everything they make there tastes so fine
Every morning now I order more pancakes
And then all that weight goes right to my behind
(Instrumental break)
I have stopped fighting against weight gain
Because I love this food too much; the taste drives me insane
There's no way I will ever want to eat at home
Their food is fried in lard and so greasy
Someday my stomach may explode (Boom!)

Adagio, actually that did come to my mind although I didn't make the song about Mexican food because I was thinking about breakfast and greasy fried meats that often come with that. Thanks for looking in. GBHD - about me? hmmm....Rick D - I'm not I like the sound of the "Uh-oh", am I in for something that I ought to grease up for first?
