Every dog I have ever owned (and ever will) has been a mutt from the shelter. Good job - but dogs are better than cats.
Thank you everybody! I have a healthy, smart and beautiful cat from the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, like the Human Society) and have never gone through a breeder. And don't get me started on whether cats or dogs are better...
This is a really good job, Leah! I've heard a joke about an animal being taken into the vet and the owner said the animal was going to die. The owner, of course, did not believe it. A Lab dog was brought in...looked at the animal and shook his head, then a cat was brought in and shook his head slowly and sadly. The owner was then charged with $350 as a bill. The owner was outraged. The vet said that it would have been only $20 without the Lab report and Cat scan. Guy reminded me of that . Again, a really good job!

I had a cat like that once. She looked like a vulture, and was so icky no one wanted to pet her. Lived to be 19, too. Good parody!

Well done--which is also how I like my cats. Joking; whether or not I'm a "cat or dog person" usually depends on the owner. Anyway, funny stuff.

Meow. Remember kiddies -- inbreeding is animal incest. At any rate, though, this was a neat one; funny to hear about all these messed-up cats and wanting to give them to the SPCA.
Every line of this bred a laugh. Hope that doesn't mean they're inferior laughs. :-) BTW & FWIW, I've only briefly been without at least one dog during my 61-and-counting years upon the planet; luckily, every one of'em, whether obtained from a breeder or the local pound, has been a more than satisfactory pet.
PS I did once briefly shelter an extremely objectionable cat just long enough to find some Barnum bait willing to be its next owner. The experience confirmed for me that dogs definitely rule.
