PS Congratulations on having the first David Allan Coe parody on amiright - have to admit, if I'd realized there was anyone else around who listens to him, I'd probably have done one myself.

Jordan - David Allan Coe writes an additional final verse to the original, which makes it the *perfect* country and western song:

Good one. Coe meets EL&P for some Brain Salad Surgery for a little part 9 of Karn Evil and a little Lecter specter.. I love it. This has class. 5x5x5!
Actually, David Allan Coe didn't write the song -- if you'd've actually listen to it, you'd know that his "good friend" Steve Goodman wrote it (and the additional final verse). I'm a big fan of the original song. The parody is okay except for the pacing. The pacing is pretty bad. But the idea is pretty good. It's better than a lot that get posted.
E.A. -- From my point, I knew that David Allan Coe only sang the song--which is what we're asked for when we post material, the original artist. But I appreciate you reading my parody, and I appreciate the fact that Phil knows some David Allan Coe. What he said about the original song being the ultimate country song--my sentiments, exactly.
Yes, EW - I realised that as soon as I posted the comment (especially as Coe does say that on the recording), but was basically too lazy to do anything about it at the time :-)
