The Lyrics
Lindi Schumann was a young girl who in 1945 took off in a Messerschmitt fighter to attempt to knock out a Mustang marauder that hit her lover's base. She had been trained in secret using her lover's two-seat trainer. Lindi was able to fly b/c she already had been a NSFK glider trainer and possible a piston ferry pilot. Her LW fighter pilot lover trainer got her nearly 8 hrs training (not difficult if he claimed to have been taking her from base to base as many LW pilots did with mechanics, fellow pilots, family, and even dogs!). She was interrogated by both the LW and Gestapo and forced into Flak Helferin (aux) training. Her lover was transferred.
