Adagio & Kristof - Thank you. It's been a long time and times have certainly gotten much more complicated for young people growing up today than they were when I was that young. It's boggling how many more potential dangers and distractions they face today. I hope that Kylie has gotten or gets a chance to read this.

Kyliez - You're welcome. All the coincidences of that morning told me I needed to try. I'm not a big believer in super-natural or para-normal or whatever, but I don't know. So I went with what felt right. It always has to come down to that, really.

Jake/Luke - No, probably about as far from it (geographically, anyway) as you can get. Born on the Eastern Coast of the United States (Connecticut), but I've lived in Los Angeles and the surrounding vicinity since I was 9 (1959). I mentioned where the young girl was from because she wrote me a note and mentioned it. Thanks for checking this one out.

Agrimorfee - Thanks, I appreciate it. Johnny D, yeah, it actually was. The girl had posted a parody of the same original song called "Communication" that really did sound troubled and when I read it I really thought she might BE in serious trouble. I lot of MY lines answered what she wrote on the same corresponding line of her piece. The whole sequence of events was very odd...when I woke up that morning, for some reason I put that VERY song track on and played it maybe 5 or 6 times before I logged on - I usually don't listen to the Chili Peppers 1st thing in the morning. Then I saw someone had used that OS for a parody, so I just had to look....and this is what followed...
You're another one that should write originals.

Rick D - So you're telling me to get off my can and actually produce something ORIGINAL? I guess the tricky part would be figuring out what music it could be set to. It's an interesting idea. I'm really hankering to head up there for an open mic night and maybe the chance to get your ideas on a few things. Thanks! Per - Thanks, I appreciate that. Guy, it was such an unusual situation - Everything that happened that morning starting from the moment I woke up just felt different, almost as if the events were designed to move me "front and center" to that girls. I suppose at any point I could have shook my head and gone on about my day, but I might always have wondered. It was so very interesting - I read her piece and posted a lengthy comment encouraging her...sort of a "hang in there, people care" type of thing, but as soon as I clicked to post it I knew that I should do more and was capable of doing more. So there was no reason not to...I really appreciate your remark here, Guy. When we take the time to look past all the silly stuff we do here to amuse and entertain ourselves and others, and the occasional politically or culturally inspired jabs we toss around sometimes (especially at this point in a critical election year), we should not be surprised to find a rather large number of few decent, caring folks dropping in and around this place. I decided a long time ago that if I spotted little opportunities where I could possibly do some good; offer a positive option or kind word to someone that I thought might need it that I just ought to go ahead and do it, even if I occasionally misperceive a situation and make more of it than it is. Well, I guess that's a thorough enough job of patting myself on the back for now...later...

I'm not sure you were joking, Paul. What I meant was original with no reference to an existing song. I could set it to music for you. I've had this discussion with Johnny and Adagio. There are many writers here that can do good things outside of parody, sometimes they just don't know it yet. If you write something like that, send it to me privately. I did one with Johnny, though it was based on a parody.

Rick - Yeah, I WAS taking it is a compliment...and kind of putting a little "reverse spin" on my reply back to hide how much I was blushing over your observation. It is SOMETHING I've thought about, but I haven't developed a regular "creative mode" to that gets me up to the plate with a bat in my hands (how's that for a weird metaphor?) With parodies the ideas get triggered rather easily and that steers me toward "story" and "pace & rhyme projections
