This week’s multicultural lesson… Robert Burns, born 1759 in Alloway, became Scotland’s ‘national poet’, and a cultural icon at home and among Scottish diaspora around the world. In his short life - he died at age 37 - he wrote hundreds of well-loved poems and songs. His most famous song is Auld Lang Syne, traditionally sung on Hogmanay, the last day of the year, and at the close of the Burns Dinner; Robbie Burns Day is celebrated on his birthday, January 25.

First you’re piped to your place, they intone Selkirk’s Grace -

I was in Dundee last fall and heard Burns' poem 'Address to a Haggis.' Very fitting tribute to a great writer who died too young.
Rrremarkable writing ability for a wee bairn from the MacConiglio clan. But the laddie should be out of doors, playing shinty and practicing hurling. I dinnae give away scores any longer out of frugality.
A nice multicultural blend here. My idea of "Scottish" cuisine is limited to that served under the Golden Arches.

@SV,Pat,MacG and JJ: Thanks for your favorable comments; MacG's frugality is forgiven. I too was frugal with the Intro. The question is raised, "Should introductions be forgot?" , as often is the case in Amore parodies. Here, the initial tremolo lines could read, "In Aberdeen and overseas / Kilt-wearers freeze below the knees."
